Tea in the United States covers everything from a traditional Chinese or Japanese tea house to a Southern sweet-tea counter, and the fastest-growing segment is bubble tea: Taiwanese-style milk teas and fruit teas with tapioca pearls, sold by chains and independents alike with adjustable sugar and ice levels. Tea rooms serving afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches usually require a reservation, while boba shops, juice bars and smoothie shops are walk-in and quick. Kava and kombucha bars are a newer category, and loose-leaf tea stores sell blends, teaware and gifts, often with a tasting counter. Prices for a drink run similar to coffee-shop prices, with premium teas and cold-pressed juices at the high end.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 12β8 pm. Santa Ana is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Santa Ana follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Very high quality of tea! Never heard of Bako Tea before, but my friend who recently visited OC asking me if I wanted to get a cup. For sure I couldn't say NO to such appealing offer. I did highly appreciate how customizable the drinks could be, beyond just tailoring the sweetness and ice level to my preference, I could even choose if I wanna go heavy on tea or heavy on milk. Obviously I went for the prior as I loved my milk tea being bolder on the tea flavor. I got the Roasted Oolong Tea Latte with whole milk at 75% sweetness level and heavy tea and I really really enjoyed it. The sweetness was just right, the tea flavor stood strong and I could tell how good the tea quality was in every sip, very fragrant and aromatic. Would obviously go for more next time and tried more from their selections. I've been eyeing on their Wintermelon Tea Latte!!

Very good drinks but they leave you waiting and never come out to see if customers are waiting for drinks. I constantly hear them in the back laughing and chatting. Meanwhile my drinks are melting⦠Like please just LOOK and see if people are there for pick up. Ridiculous

Great and tea and even better service. I tried the roasted Oolong tea, they had the option to increase tea or milk. The barista let me know if I didnβt like I could increase tea after trying it for free. I did and the drink is wonderful, the tea is strong and the boba is cooked perfectly. Wonderful spot I wish them the best.

At least 3rd time here since opening. Favorite new place in OC. Love the tea or milk heavy options. Boba: right texture and chewiness. Agar boba: on small side and sweet. This will bump the sweetness up several notches, ie, if 25% sugar, tastes more like 75-100% sugar. -Jasmine milk, tea heavy: superb! 5* -Roasted oolong milk, tea heavy: Great but I think could be little more "roasted" aroma, 5* -Phoenix milk. Tea heavy: superb! 5* Overall: 5* and will return each time we visit OC. 12.22.25: for the road to airport

It's an artisan tea shop that focuses more on quality tea than desserty, trendy stuff. The teas are all amazing and you really get to taste the richness and slight bitterness of all the flavors. I'd recommend 25% sweetness if you're here for the tea flavor. The servers I've usually gotten are quite stand offish and not super friendly but still polite. Wish I could get some more conversation about recommended items and options and such. Drinks: 9/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Service: 4/10 Value: 7/10
